Going Green with Playground Stylings

On the way home from preschool today, my son said “Mummy, when will the Earth explode?”… took a few beats for me to say,

I don’t think it will… at least not anytime soon… then I asked if he meant volcanos which spew molten lava which comes from inside the Earth… then I went onto discussing a trembling Earth via earthquakes… which brought me to living in California and the earthquakes we have here… and back to exploding stars and asteroids up in space.

“OK?”, I asked…

He looked at me blankly. As I drove, my mind was reeling with various related facts I’d acquired over the years.

A few beats went by…

“Mummy, when will the Earth explode?”….. 

“I’m not sure, Poppetito.”
